There's nothing quite as cool as an underground speakeasy. You won't see any sign of The Blind Pig from the road on which it sits. You could easily walk past the entrance without a clue as to what you'd find below. But walk down the staircase, follow the neon sign that says "Ssh" and you'll find an underground bar that'll transport you to another world.
You'll need to book in advance to find out the exact location, as sometimes you'll need a password to get in, but once you have a table you can take your pick from any number of cocktails on the menu. You can't go wrong with a classic Old Fashioned, but their menu has plenty of more unusual drinks to whet your whistle.
There's a sister bar in the city, The Little Pig, that's even trickier to find... the hunt involves a pin code, an alleyway and an even more secretive staircase. It won't be until you're inside that you believe it exists at all, but the bar itself is a cosy, plush little delight, all red velvet and luxurious little booths.
